I am so Full of...

...The Holy Spirit!

And possibly some doody, too. Yesterday on January 8, 2011, I, William David, was Baptized by Fr. Tom Dennemann at St. Ann's Church (as Uncle Ryan found out, St. Ann's is on the Other Side of Galbraith Road). It was a great experience for me! So many wonderful people traveled from many distances, near and far, to see me baptized. I knew that this was a very special time for me, so I was extra-dee-mextra good for mommy and daddy. I didn't cry even once throughout the entire ceremony, or even at the after-party at Grandma Nancy's. Everyone commented on how well I behaved, even other random parishioners. Many of them told Fr. Tom that he better hurry up and baptize me after mass, or I would start to cry soon. I showed them! I was Super-Dee-Duper Good the entire time!

Fr. Tom is an awesome priest who preached a great message of welcoming everyone into the church (including me!), and he was very funny, too. When he had to annoint me with oil on my throat, he asked mommy and daddy to pull down my shirt, and he just needed to see "one of my chins." During the baptism itself, he poured warm water into the holy water so that it wouldn't be cold for me. He is such a nice guy.

The picture above shows both my Awesome Parents with my Awesome Godparents: Uncle Wes, Uncle Toph, Aunt Katie, and Aunt Beka.

Afterward we had a nice party at Grandma Nancy's house, which was catered by the tasty Roma Italian Restaurant. It was great to see both mommy's and daddy's sides of the family. It was too bad that Mom-o, Pop-o, Uncle Ben, Aunt Sara, and Skylee couldn't come, but I know that they were with me in spirit! I just saw them last week ago when we celebrated Christmas with mommy's side of the family in Peoria, Illinois. I had a great time with them and everyone else, as you can tell by the all the smiles in these pictures. I got a lot of cool gifts, and I can't wait until I get old enough so I can play with all of them.

Right now I am progressing fairly nicely in my development, in mind, body, and spirit (or, "corpus, mens, anima," which is also La Salle's Latin motto, which is where daddy teaches at, and he also graduated from there, and he says I will probably go there, too). I was just weighed in at 15 pounds, 4 oz., which is almost twice as much when I was born! I am filling out nicely (as Fr. Tom noted), and mommy just started trying to feed me some solid foods, which I am not 100 percent thrilled with right now, but mommy says that if I want to be a big boy, I need to start eating this stuff that's pretty much like mush. It looks like the dirty grey snow that you find at the bottom of your car, but I guess mommy knows what she's talking about.

Mommy and daddy are also trying to get me to do more tummy time, and, once again, I'm not 100 percent sold on tummy time. I think I get a little frustrated with my lack of progress. I mean, I just lie there, and I struggle to do Something, Anything, but I feel like Sisyphus and I get NoWhere, but I want to be NowHere. I last about two minutes max, and then the WaterWorks turn on. Daddy says he lets me cry for just a few minutes (mean daddy) because if he always picks me up immediately whenever I cry, then I will just become dependent on mommy and daddy to fix everything when I start to cry. Really, daddy? Is that why? Daddy insists he doesn't like to see me cry, and that it's for my own good (I beg to differ; I'd rather just chill and hang out in somebody's arms for the rest of my life, but NooooOOOoo, I have to... "move on my own accord"... whatever, man, just let me have a Free Ride for the rest of my life and I'm cool with that).

The best thing, though, that I'm doing is My Smiles. I am freely and frequently giving out My Smiles. I love my goofy mommy, daddy, Papi, and Mimi. I love the sound of "Meowwww." My daddy made this sweet new song that goes, "Mr. Will, Mr. Will he's a lovely boy. Mr. Will, Mr. Will, he's a happy boy..." He changes the lyrics almost every time, and I think it's great! Mommy and daddy love it when I get so excited, and I give a great huge smile and I squirm because I can't contain myself. I do it a lot whenever I see somebody that I haven't seen in a while, and they give me a great Big Smile, and I love giving them a Big Smile back.

Well, that's all I have for now. At four-months-old, life keeps getting better and better! Life is great!
