Howdy Folks!
How's everyone doing? There have been some exciting times in the Life and Times of William D. Jacob (doesn't that sound like a future lawyer's name? Don't tell Mommy that). I got to celebrate this awesome Holiday called Easter. I can't really tell the difference between Easter and Christmas right now, because at both Holidays I get some cool new toys and I get to eats lots of Candy! Did you see that yummy marshmallow Peep that I am about to chomp on above? Apparently, my first name was "Peep" when I was living in my Mommy's tummy! And now I am eating my former name! Is that some symbolically cool stuff or what? My Daddy, who's an English teacher, is so proud! (That's him in the background, if you can't see through my ginmormous head)
Like I said, I got some cool new toys from the Easter Bunny, and one of them was this newfangled thing called a Sandbox. Apparently this is a Super Sandbox because it also has a Water Slide. It's very cool and I love it! I want to play in it almost every day! Mommy and Daddy love how I track all this sand inside after I play. They get bored a lot, and they need more things to clean, because their new house doesn't somehow get dirty enough on its own.
Oh, and in other news, I am somehow getting cuter! No, I am not getting a complex or anything. I mean, I wish I knew what a Complex was, and why it's so complex (a pun! I am just a chip off the English teacher's blockhead!), but we just went out to eat this Saturday and a random Older Lady came up to my Mommy and Daddy just to tell them how much fun she had watching me eat. I mean, doesn't every 19-month-old love to eat salsa by using his tortilla chip as a shovel? The chip is just an accessory, really. I don't really eat the chip.
Speaking of which, I definitely received Uncly Tophy's love of Hot and Spicy Stuff. One of the times that we had Salsa, it was much hotter than it usually was, and I was just shoveling it in like it was my job (really, this is the only job that I do have now-a-days with this economy, you know?). But IT WAS HOT. Like, SPICY HOT. Did I cry? Yes. But did this stop me? No. I just kept asking for more milk. I tell ya', I like spicy stuff so much, I'm willing to cry over it.
This past weekend Mommy, Daddy, and I went to the Newport Aquarium! I got to see lots and lots of different kinds of Fish: Blue Glow-y Thingys (Daddy says he also teaches Latin, hence the Latin nomen), Turtles, a Giant Bleepin Spider Crab that Can Live up To a Hundred Years Old and Is Not Scary at All but Totally Awesome (really, it was cool and I liked it), Mike the Alligator who's like 15 feet tall and totally awesome (but not quite as awesome as the aforementioned Spider Crab), Sharks (!), and, as you can see in the picture, I got to hang out with some Penguins! Those are really fake Penguins, if you can't tell, but I did see a whole aquarium full of Penguins do some really cool Penguin Stuff like swim and waddle around and swim some more. It was really neat.
Last but not least, I am really impressing my Mommy and Daddy with how smart I am. First off, "Dadda" and "Momma" is now so passe for me. Daddy has also noticed how I am using these things called "modifiers" (did I mention that Daddy is an English nerd?) like "a" and "the." The newest thing I like to say? MINE! Sometimes I use it as a joke. Sometimes I am really serious that something is MINE! It's tough to tell which one is which, because I am such a Little Devil. Oh, and the coolest thing of all? I am WELL on my way to reciting my ABC's. Yes, you read that correctly. I LOVE singing the ABC Song. I have the cadence down fairly well. My pronunciation of the letters isn't 100 percent clear, but I am pretty gosh darn close. And I know when to say certain letters like... PPPPPPPPP! And... VVVVVVVVV! And.... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!! As you can tell, I have lots of fun with it.
